still here still getting bye

I am still here, still getting bye. Worries are always with me but I am less oppressed by them than I have been.
Herrad's wound opening again and the dog being sick plus the winter blues got a bit on top of me. I am trying to spring clean house body and mind and go forward in a positive manner.
I want to do something daft- all my life I have taken the less sensible option but right now I am Mr Responsible. I need to be a good boy so I will be a good boy but I want an outlet for the crazy side.
I am toying with doing motorcycle lessons and buying an old bike. I saw a Benelli Tornado from 1970 and a Bonny from 64. I could afford one.I would not have time to drive much but I could keep it in the living room and stroke it Only thing is I am a crap mechanic. I have a touch like an elephant with delicate machinery.
We will see what we can do.

Hang in there, Richie.

Winter will soon be a distant memory, the dog will heal all in good time and with lots of love and attention, and Herrad loves you so much. Know that you are the glue that holds it all together in your home. A heavy burden for sure, but a lovely one as well.

Sometimes when we have so many things and people dependent on us, it takes a terrible toll on our mind, body and spirit but the silver lining is the love there that neither of you would give up for a million bucks.

I'm hoping your worries simmer down soon and my prayers, as always, are with you both.

Love,
Anne

I think you'd really enjoy riding. I know I do.

Richie - I understand how a sick partner can make you feel like Mr Responsible. It's hard for me to believe that I am so responsible now ... keeping a home, paying the bills, caring for Skip. I, too long for something "daft," as you say. Whatever it is, old motorcycle or something else, I hope you can achieve it!

Caregiving may appear 'responsible' to those outside looking in but it is also very much 'something daft'. :)

Caregivingly Yours,
