oh shit

I am very down today. Yesterday I nearly killed Herrad. Screwed up good and proper. I took a road crossing too quick and pitched her out the chair... we got away with only minor damage to the chair and a small bruise on Herrad's head. I am gutted.

From Mary
I couldn't leave a comment on your most recent post..so I will leave it here. I've taken care of(at different times in the past)both my mother & father. I've felt that terrible...OH, MY GOD WHAT DID I JUST DO?...also.
I am so very sorry. My father once said to me...Please don't worry, without you I would have been long dead anyway..and he laughed. It was the best medicine laugh for me ever. ~Mary

Accidents are just that. You are such a good caregiver, you must forgive yourself and give yourself a break.Have a better weekend.

Richie, we all fuck up now and then. Herrad wasn't hurt badly (I am relieved), and her chair wasn't hurt either. So all is well. This certainly doesn't negate all the good you bring to Herrad's life. Betcha it made your heart go pitty-pat for quite the while, though.

Hopefully you both can laugh about it now.

As devastating as falls are, I could never being myself to force BR into a world where falls were impossible.

Love to both of you.

Richie - I can relate to how you feel pitching Herrad out of her chair. I've done it a few times to Skip, most recently a few years ago when we hit a bad spot on the sidewalk. She hit her head too.

Hi there, just found your blog.
Hang in there...I will be happy if my Mr. Romantic is still around to pitch me from my chair (I am not there yet, but my feet have issues)
Hugs from Chronic land,
